The Flat Roof Problem

Commercial flat roofs don't shed water — they hold it. Standing water, blocked drains, low-slope drainage failure, and membrane deterioration are all conditions that develop gradually and are almost completely invisible from the ground. By the time water reaches the interior, the damage has typically been accumulating for months.

Aerial documentation changes the inspection dynamic. A drone pass over a flat roof after rainfall gives building owners, managers, and insurers an accurate picture of what's happening on the roof surface — before it becomes a leak, a claim, or a structural issue.

What the Footage Shows

The footage we capture is 4K at 60fps, unedited, and timestamped by the camera at the time of recording. A commercial roof survey documents standing water and its depth relative to roof features, drainage inlet and outlet condition, visible membrane blistering or splitting, moss and algae colonization, flashing separation at parapet walls and HVAC penetrations, and any damage caused by foot traffic or maintenance access.

Insurance and Claim Documentation

Pre-event aerial footage is significantly more useful than post-event footage alone. If you have a documented record of your roof's condition before a hail event, severe rainfall, or windstorm, your insurance adjuster has a clear before-and-after comparison. That comparison changes the conversation from "was this pre-existing?" to "here's exactly what changed and when."

Regular documentation at whatever frequency makes sense for your building — quarterly, post-storm, or annually — builds a timestamped record over time that carries real weight with insurers and building inspectors.

Building Condition Reporting

Property managers overseeing multiple buildings can use aerial documentation as part of regular condition reporting. A full exterior survey — roof, facade, parking lot surface, perimeter — gives a comprehensive visual record that can be shared with ownership groups, insurers, and maintenance contractors without requiring anyone to physically access the roof or commission a formal inspection.

Delivery

Footage is delivered the same day — on-site via USB, sent remotely, or uploaded as an unlisted YouTube link. All files are raw 4K 60fps as captured. A complimentary backup copy is retained for 90 days.
